You find a quiet corner, set the small brass bowl down on its base, and slide the wooden end of the stick around the rim until a steady tone begins to build and hold in the room.
Symbolism
The lotus engraved on the bowl is one of the most recognised symbols across Eastern traditions, associated with purity and gradual awakening as it rises clean from murky water. Singing bowls themselves are a type of bell that rest on their base rather than hanging, with the sides and rim vibrating to produce sound.
How to use
- Place the bowl on the included ring pillow
- Strike the rim once with the padded end of the mallet, then circle the wooden end slowly around the edge
- Keep steady, light contact to sustain the tone
- Store in the carrying case when not in use
Details
- Includes singing bowl, mallet, ring pillow and carrying case
- Diameter approximately 9cm, height 5cm
- Material: brass
- Made in Nepal
- Weight approximately 550g
