Getting ready for an evening out, a drop of Geranium oil blended into a carrier brings a rosy, green, slightly minty floral scent, often used to round out a personal fragrance. Steam-distilled from the leaves of Pelargonium graveolens grown in Egypt, one of the main producing regions for this oil.
Symbolism
Geranium has long been used in perfumery as a way to extend and echo the scent of true rose at a fraction of the cost, and in aromatherapy lore it is often associated with balance and harmony. Many people blend it with rose, citrus or floral oils for a soft, romantic accord.
How to use
- Blend into a carrier oil as a personal fragrance base, or add to a diffuser with rose or citrus.
- Always dilute before skin contact and patch test a small area first.
