Gesmolten glazen wijndecanteerkan op hout

This decanter is formed from hand-blown recycled glass melted directly onto a natural Gamal wood base, made in Bali. Standing around 29 cm tall, it is sized for serving wine as much as for display on its own. The glass hardens into the exact shape of the wood beneath it as it cools, so the base is unique to this one piece.

Symbolism

Balinese glassblowers see the decanter form as a practical extension of the same process used across this range: glass melted while hot, then left to settle onto a wood root rather than a mould. Many people value that combination of everyday function and handmade variation, since no two decanters share exactly the same base. Used for wine or simply displayed empty, it carries the same story of fire meeting growth found throughout the collection.

How to use

• Use to serve wine, or display empty as a sculptural piece.
• Hand wash only; wipe the wood with a dry cloth and avoid prolonged contact with standing water.
