Holly Berry & Mistletoe takes its name from two of the best-known midwinter evergreens, and comes as a pure fragrance oil in an undiluted 500ml bottle, ready to be measured out drop by drop rather than worn on the skin.
Symbolism
Holly and mistletoe stay green through the coldest months, and folklore across Europe long treated them as signs of protection and continuing life brought indoors for the darkest weeks of the year. Mistletoe in particular carries the old custom of a kiss exchanged beneath it, while holly berries are traditionally linked to warmth and welcome at the door.
How to use
- A few drops in an oil burner over a tea light carry the scent through a room
- Use a heat-resistant burner and never leave the flame unattended
- Blend into candle wax or soap base during making, following the maker's own recipe
- A drop stirred into tired potpourri brings the scent back
- Keep out of reach of children and pets, and away from the eyes
