The Om symbol engraved across the surface is one of the most recognised sounds and signs in Indian spiritual tradition, often associated with the vibration said to underlie all things. Steel tongue drums themselves are a modern instrument, but they are widely used in meditation and sound therapy circles for the way their tones support slow breathing and focus.
