Tidying a kitchen garden at the end of summer, the scent of Dill Seed oil is fresh, green and faintly anise-like, close to the smell of crushing dill seeds between the fingers. Steam-distilled from the seeds of Anethum graveolens grown in Hungary, it comes from a herb long grown across Central European kitchen gardens.
Symbolism
Dill has been grown in European gardens for centuries, and in older folk tradition it was often linked to protecting the home and keeping a household settled. Its fresh, green scent works well in light diffuser blends alongside citrus or other herb oils.
How to use
- Diffuse in small amounts, blended with citrus or other green herb oils.
- Dilute in a carrier oil before any skin contact, and patch test a small area first.
- Do not ingest, and keep away from children and pets.
- Check with a doctor before use in pregnancy.
