A carved driftwood fish tops a vertical run of natural, undyed capiz shell discs in this wind chime, finished with raffia cord and pinewood beads. It is handmade in Indonesia and measures approximately 35 x 28 cm, with a hanging length of around 50-55 cm.
Symbolism
The pale, natural shell keeps this piece close to its raw materials, giving it a quieter look than the dyed versions in the same range. Fish motifs are a familiar symbol of movement and abundance in coastal decor, while the wind chime's sound is traditionally linked to clearing negative energy from a room or entryway.
How to use
- Hang indoors in a calm corner or covered garden spot where the breeze can move it gently.
- Keep away from constant direct sun and heavy rain, since driftwood and shell are natural materials that can fade or weather over time.
