On a warm evening with the windows left open, a stick of Stamford Jasmine can carry its fragrance through the whole room. The scent is heady and sweetly floral, one of the most recognisable notes in incense and perfumery alike.
Symbolism
Jasmine is traditionally associated with love, sensuality and, in some cultures, prophetic dreams, often linked to the feminine and to evenings rather than mornings since many jasmine species release their strongest scent after dark. It has been burned and worn as perfume across Asia and the Middle East for centuries.
How to use
- Light the tip until it catches a flame, then blow it out so the stick smoulders
- Stand it upright in a heatproof incense holder to catch the falling ash
- Burn in a ventilated room, away from draughts, children, pets and anything flammable
- Each stick burns for approximately 30 minutes
