After a long day on your feet, some people reach for a warm, herbaceous oil to blend into a shoulder or foot rub before winding down. This oil is steam distilled from the leaves and flowering tops of Thymus mastichina, a Spanish herb traditionally called Spanish or wild marjoram.
Energetic properties
In aromatherapy tradition, marjoram-type oils are associated with comfort and settling down after exertion, often blended into evening massage oils. Note that this Spanish variety is botanically distinct from sweet or French marjoram, with a sharper, more herbal scent.
