A smaller companion to the medium vase in this line, this piece pairs hand-blown recycled glass with a piece of Gamal wood finished in a pale whitewash. Made in Bali, its more compact height suits a side table or shelf rather than a floor display. The glass was melted directly onto the wood while hot, taking on the exact shape of that particular root.
Symbolism
The whitewashed finish used across this line softens the usual contrast between fired glass and grown wood, letting the grain show through a lighter surface. Many people see this pairing as a quiet, everyday example of two different processes, growth and heat, settling into a single object.
