This large box-style oil burner is carved from mango wood into a 12.5cm cube, with a Tree of Life design cut into its panels to let light and scent filter through once lit.
Symbolism
The Tree of Life is a recurring motif across many cultures, traditionally associated with growth, connection and the balance between roots and branches, earth and sky. Mango wood is widely used in this style of carving for its rich grain and sturdiness, and no two burners are quite alike.
How to use
- Place a lit tealight in the base and add a few drops of essential oil to water in the top dish
- Position on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from draughts and flammable materials
- Never leave a lit burner unattended and keep away from children and pets
- Air the room while the burner is burning
- Let it cool completely before emptying any leftover water and cleaning
