This large horse statue is carved from Albasia wood and finished with an antique-style patina that lets the natural grain show through the paintwork. Standing 32 cm tall on a simple base, it has enough scale and weight to anchor a shelf, sideboard or console table, and works equally well as a single statement piece or grouped with other carved figures from the same range.
Symbolism
Across many cultures the horse is traditionally associated with freedom, stamina and forward motion, and Indonesian carvers have long shaped horses as decorative figures for the home rather than for ceremonial use.
