Light a Himalaya stick when you sit down to meditate and give yourself the length of its burn as the session. The 15g pack belongs to the Golden Nag range of hand-rolled incense sticks made in India.
Symbolism
The Himalaya has been a place of retreat and pilgrimage for centuries, home to monasteries where fragrant smoke accompanies chanting and offerings. Incense named after those mountains is traditionally associated with clarity, altitude and stillness, and many people choose it for seated practice, mantra work or the moment before sleep. Burning it is a way of borrowing that mountain quiet for a small room.
How to use
- Push the bare end of the stick into a holder or a bowl filled with sand.
- Light the tip, let it flare, then blow out the flame so the ember glows steadily.
- Position the holder on a heat-resistant surface, clear of fabric and paper.
- Air the room during and after burning, and never leave the stick unattended.
- Keep away from children and pets, and store the pack somewhere dry.
