If you only keep one incense in the drawer, this is usually the one. Light a Champa stick first thing in the morning and the room takes on that familiar creamy, floral sweetness, halva and frangipani over a base of sandalwood, that has become the signature scent of Indian incense. The pack contains 15g of hand-rolled masala sticks made in India.
Spiritual meaning
Champa blends take their name from the champaca flower, long offered at shrines and used in temple garlands across India. The fragrance is traditionally associated with devotion, calm and an open heart, and many people burn it at the start of meditation, during yoga, or while writing and reflecting, letting the familiar scent settle the mind before anything else begins.
How to use
- Set one stick in a heat-resistant holder that catches the falling ash.
- Light the coated tip, let the flame catch, then blow it out and leave the ember glowing.
- Keep the holder on a stable surface, clear of fabric, paper and anything flammable.
- Ventilate the room while the stick burns and afterwards.
- Never leave burning incense unattended, and keep out of reach of children and pets.
