Late in the evening, when you want something warmer and more grounded, you light a Patchouli backflow cone on its burner and wait for the tip to glow before blowing out the flame. The spicy, mossy-sweet smoke then falls rather than rises, spilling through the burner's opening in slow twisting ribbons that pool below.
Spiritual meaning
Patchouli has a long history in perfumery and ritual use, its deep earthy scent traditionally linked to grounding and sensuality. Many people find its musky sweetness improves with time, making it a favourite for creating a relaxed, intimate mood at the close of the day.
How to use
- Set the cone at the top of a backflow burner with a channel for the smoke to fall
- Light the tip, then blow out the flame once it glows steadily
- Place on a stable, heatproof surface away from drafts
- Never leave burning incense unattended, and keep away from children and pets
- Ventilate the room while burning
