Behind its painted face, the Hati-Hati Angel Magic Box - Joy hides a small compartment carved into a hollow body of Suar wood. Each piece is shaped by hand in mountain villages in Indonesia, where this hardwood is traditionally used for decorative and sacred carvings, and stands roughly 14 cm tall.
Symbolism
The name 'hati-hati' means 'take care' in Indonesian, and the angel is meant as a gentle reminder to look after our own wellbeing and that of the people around us. This version carries the theme of joy, with its cradled heart standing for lightness, delight and the happiness shared with others.
