Twelve bottles is about the size of a working collection: the oils you actually reach for. This carved mango wood box keeps them standing, lids up and labels visible, so that when you sit down to blend something or to fill the diffuser you are not searching through a drawer.
Symbolism
Carved flowers and vines run through Indian woodwork on doors, screens and chests, and are traditionally read as a sign of growth and abundance. A box kept only for oils turns a shelf into a small working space, the way a cloth kept only for cards does.
How to use
- Fill it with your own bottles: it takes twelve 10 ml sizes up to 65 mm tall and about 25 mm across, which covers most essential oils, blends and fragrance oils.
- Start with a few single oils and one or two blends, and keep the box where you practise.
- Close the lid and keep the box out of direct sunlight, so your oils stay cool and dark.
- Keep it somewhere high if there are children or pets in the house: essential oils should stay out of their reach.
