Spiritual meaning
Resins have been burned at first light for as long as there have been altars: frankincense in the temples of Egypt and Arabia, copal in Mesoamerica, each of them offered to the returning sun. The blend is named for that moment. In many traditions the sun stands for vitality, clarity and the will to begin, and incense lit at dawn is used to mark the turn from night to day rather than to change anything by itself.
How to use
