Coming home after a stressful day is another moment when a bundle like this earns its place: white sage combined with pirul seed, the small dried berries of the Peruvian pepper tree, tied into a 10 cm stick.
Symbolism
Where the foliage version of this bundle uses the leaves of the pirul tree, this one uses the small dried seeds instead, though both are drawn from the same tradition of Mexican limpias, or ritual cleansings, where the plant is associated with clearing heavy energy. Combined with white sage, the pairing follows that same clearing tradition.
How to use
- Hold the stick at an angle, light the tip, then blow out any flame so it smoulders rather than burns.
- Use a heatproof dish, shell or tray to catch any ash as you move through the space.
- Do not leave it burning unattended, and air the room out while it smoulders and afterwards.
