A cotton throw of 125 × 150 cm, woven in two tones of ruby red so the colour shifts as the light moves across it, and finished with a cream tassel fringe. It is light enough to sit under in summer and warm enough to keep on the sofa through the winter.
Symbolism
A cloth kept for one purpose becomes part of the practice itself: prayer shawls, meditation blankets and altar cloths all work this way. Red is traditionally linked to the root chakra, and across many cultures to vitality and protection, which is why it is such a common choice for a seat or a corner set aside for sitting.
Care
- Follow the care label, and wash it separately the first time, as deep dyes can run.
- Dry it in the shade rather than in full sun, to keep the colour.
- Shake the fringe out by hand and untangle the tassels with your fingers.
- Warm iron on the reverse if needed.
