You light the first flame as the room settles into evening, then a second beside it, and the marble base begins to gather the two small glows into one warm pool of light. This double candle holder is carved from petrified wood, the mineralised remains of ancient trees, paired with a marble surround that steadies the piece on any table.
Symbolism
In many traditions, fossilised wood is linked to grounding and to the passage of time, since it forms slowly as wood is buried and gradually replaced by mineral. Placing it near a lit candle is often seen as a way to bring that sense of patience and permanence into a room.
How to use
- Set the holder on a stable, heatproof surface before lighting
- Place two tealights in the recesses and light them one at a time
- Never leave burning candles unattended and keep the room ventilated
- Allow the stone to cool fully before moving it
