Sorting through herbs after a trip to the market, the scent of Fennel oil is sweet, warm and distinctly anise-like, stronger and more concentrated than the fresh herb. Steam-distilled from the seeds of Foeniculum vulgare grown in Ukraine, fennel has been part of Mediterranean gardens since antiquity.
Energetic properties
Ancient Greek and Roman writers linked fennel to strength and endurance, and the plant has stayed in European herb gardens ever since for its sweet, liquorice-like scent. It blends well with citrus and other seed or spice oils, and many people use it in daytime diffuser blends for a bright, herbaceous lift.
How to use
- Diffuse blended with citrus or other spice-seed oils for a sweet, herbaceous accord.
- Dilute in a carrier oil before skin use, and patch test a small area first.
- Do not ingest, and keep away from children and pets.
- Avoid use during pregnancy without checking with a doctor first.
